We feel fortunate to have found Cotter House for both of my parents. Their journey began when we realized they were not safe to stay at their home. We initially found another excellent place for them where they received top-tier care. But then dad fell and broke his hip, and mom had a stroke. After rehab, they were ineligible to return to their previous place.

Because of their different needs, we thought they would need to be in separate facilities, but Cotter House made it possible for them to live in the same facility in two separate neighborhoods. Now they have their individual needs met and come together for activities and shared events.

The staff is amazing! From the moment they arrived, Tammy, Gretchen, Donna, Casie, and many aides welcomed Mom and Dad with open arms. They receive genuine care, thoughtful attention, and lots of love from the staff. The PT and OT have also been a big plus for mom and dad. The therapists are compassionate and encouraging. And the food is fresh and delicious.

Cotter House is top tier. We are so glad that my parents are at Cotter House. After visiting them, I feel relieved to know that when we say goodbye, they are in the best of hands, and I do not worry about the care they receive in their new home.

Placing my dad in memory care was one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make, especially coming from a facility that wasn’t able to meet his needs. From my very first interaction with Cotter House, I felt a level of compassion and attentiveness that truly set it apart.

I visited multiple times—both announced and unannounced, on different days and times—and the feeling was always the same: calm, compassionate, and genuinely attentive. The staff took the time to understand my dad—quirks (he has lots) and all—before he even walked through the door.

Every staff member knows him—even housekeeping. I’m always welcomed warmly, like today when “Miss May May” (my nickname for her) in laundry greeted me with a big hug—she’s a rockstar, they all are!!!

They care for him with kindness and dignity, reflecting the level of love and attention I would want for him every day. The facility is clean, calm, and comforting—never chaotic or unpleasant.

Because of the Cotter Crew I can finally breathe at night and begin to live my life again, finding balance in the emotional roller coaster this despicable disease brings!!! Communication is incredibly important to me, and they have exceeded my expectations. They’ve even embraced my own quirks—and in just nine months, they’ve truly become like family.

For someone like my dad, that sense of peace and “home” matters more than anything. And for me, it means everything, I’m extremely grateful.

My family and I are incredibly grateful for the exceptional care my mom receives there at the Cotter House. We can’t say enough about the amazing people who care for her — the staff embodies everything you would hope for in a care team: they are kind, loving, attentive, compassionate, empathetic, and thoughtful.

Although we had always hoped my mom could remain in her own home, her journey with dementia has made that impossible. The Cotter House has become her new home — not just a place to live, but a community where she is engaged, supported, and genuinely cared for.

The relationships she’s formed with both the residents and the staff have brought her joy and comfort, and for that, we are endlessly thankful. We feel truly blessed to know the extraordinary people who make The Cotter House such a special place, and we are thankful for the love and kindness they have shown to our mom.

Cotter House- THANK YOU!!!

My husband has been at The Cotter house for 3 months. His admission was of an urgent matter. The entire staff was sympathetic, caring and helpful with the move in process. The outreach coordinator even followed up with me several times to see how I was doing. When I visit which is nearly daily the staff greets me with a smile, knows my husbands name and my name. The facility is impeccably clean, orderly and the residents appear well cared for. I knew this was a wonderful facility and my husband seems happy living there. The nurses are warm and caring and go over and above to help my spouse. The hospice company is also top notch and caring and professional. I’d highly recommend Cotter House for anyone needing memory care.

This place has been a blessing to my Aunt who is there and to our family. The feeling of love each resident is given by the staff can be seen every single day. Our family is so at peace knowing my aunt is there and the attention and care she receives can be seen with her peace and content living there .
We could not have picked a better facility for our loved one.
Thank you to each and every staff member who has made this a Great place for my aunt to live. Your jobs do not go unseen.
We will forever be greatfuul for each one of you.

Our experience with Cotter House began about a year ago with my husband attending as a day friend two days a week. He was hesitant at first, to say the least. However, because of the overwhelming welcoming and continued attentiveness, genuine compassion and super friendliness of both the amazing staff and caregivers, he now attends four days per week! Being in a good mood and a smile on his face at the end of the day says it all! A most positive encounter, not only for my husband, but for me as a caregiver as well.

The extremely caring and knowledgeable staff have made all the difference for my mom's day to day quality of life. From regular walks to porch time this beautiful autumn and fun enrichments with puppies, musicians and local artists, my mom always feels safe, known and respected. Positive vibes all around!

Cotter House has provided a balance of independence and safety that my spouse no longer had at home. The level of care at Cotter House will evolve as his disease progresses. The staff are wonderful, there are activities throughout each day, and the food is farm to table- my husband eats better at Cotter than he did at home. I have no regrets about moving my spouse to Cotter House.

I have only positive things to say about Cotter House. They worked very quickly to help with a difficult family situation. Aleks went above and beyond to facilitate the intake process, handling everything efficiently and professionally while communicating with us and being understanding of the situation.

Casie also went out of her way to make us feel welcome and comforted, and was always there to offer support during the most difficult moments. We deeply appreciated her kindness and professionalism throughout the entire process.

The nursing team was also unbelievably professional and kind. The facility itself is gorgeous and very clean. I’m very grateful for the way Cotter House treated my family during a challenging time in our lives.

The Cotter House has been a blessing. My husband attended their day friend program, and after a couple of months needed emergency placement into the facility. The staff went over and above to make this transition as smooth as possible. They were very attentive to my needs and high anxiety during this transition. They have always been open to suggestions and concerns of any kind. They not only listen to my concerns, but act upon them with a favorable outcome. The facility is one of the cleanest and best kept facilities that I toured prior to placement of my husband. Highly recommend the Cotter House.

In February 2020 my daughter and I came into the facility due to needing a place for my father. Prior to this, my Dad was at an independent facility whose memory care unit was not acceptable in our minds. When we walked into the Kemper House we met with Greg Cini and was given a tour right on the spot. We could not have found a more perfect place for my father. The staff is very caring and attentive. All of his needs are met. He gets a lot of attention and is very content. I am so thankful we found such a special place.

Top notch dementia and Alzheimer's care community. They really have excellent medical and administrative staff caring for the residents. Only the best are selected to be a part of the Kemper family. The owner is just multi-talented, most genuine human being I have met. He clearly curated the place with love and purpose. You sense it the moment you walk in.

My dad has been at the Kemper House for a year. I can't say enough good things about the staff and the facility. They are the most caring group and go out of the way for the residents. My dad has been in multiple facilities in the last 3 years, they are not all same. Kemper is the best without a doubt.

I could not have more positive regard for Kemper House, and for the care and compassion they have given not only to our Lynette, but also to myself and our family through this difficult change in our lives.

From the beginning Lynette was a day friend, which provided great support for me. When she became ill about a month before projected move in date, they graciously moved the date up, which was a great relief as I was simply not able to care for her as I had in the past, due to physical and dementia related issues.

I resisted this move for as long as possible, always believing that no one could love and care for her at a level I could accept. I was wrong. The love and compassion this staff gives to Lynette is more than I could ever imagined. To name any one staff, is unfair to all of the wonderful people who care for her, but watching Fatu help her to while singing que sera, Saundra responding so quickly to whatever she needs, Emah calling her "Professor", or Liam just expressing so much compassion. While a day friend, she was sometimes resistant, but Rebecca could always get her to come in and participate.

I miss her more than I can express, but am very happy that she is at Kemper House surrounded by that loving staff.

My husband is a resident at Kemper House Worthington. I don't believe we could have found a better place for him to receive care as we navigate his Alzheimer's diagnosis. The staff at Kemper House is phenomenal. They have gone out of their way to make my husband and our family feel welcome. The nursing staff has been very open and honest with me regarding my husband's medical needs. They are always available to answer any questions or concerns I have had. The Life Enrichment team is awesome. My husband thoroughly enjoys the wide variety of activities they plan for the residents. These activities keep him busy and engaged in life at Kemper House. My husband receives regular physical therapy in the gym at Kemper House. This is so important for continued mobility and strength. Finally, the front office staff is always friendly, welcoming, and available to address any questions I might have. I have no doubt that my husband is receiving the best possible care at Kemper House Worthington.

The Kemper staff is second to none! When you make the difficult decision to move your loved one to a memory care home, you want staff that genuinely cares for your loved one and a place that truly is their new home. Kemper is that and more. I have been so happy with the caring, attentive staff and the facility itself is lovely. Kemper takes pride in all they do for residents and we, as family members, feel confident in our loved one’s care and well being.

We have visited several Alzheimer care facilities and not even close. Kemper House is amazing!
My mom was in the adult day care program twice a week at Kemper House. As things became worse quickly, Kemper House did so many things to get us in a full time room and help my dad feel comfortable letting his wife stay in a full time care facility. The staff cares about my mom and treats her like family. This disease sucks! Thanks to everyone at Kemper House!

Kemper House is an incredibly beautiful, special place. We placed our loved on there after being rejected by a number of facilities based on the deterioration of his mental health and progression of dementia-like symptoms. Aleks and her team "took a chance" on him and us, and helped a complicated individual and situation transition to nursing care with such patience and compassion. Everyone from the front desk person to cleaning and hospitality seemed to learn his name quickly, and made him and us feel so welcomed. By the time he was admitted, I was worn out and needed a break - and Kemper House put my mind at ease that I could step away and he would not only be cared for, but would be cared for by people who have far more experience and expertise than I with patients like Bill. As his physical disease progressed, we were able to utilize the hospice services available on-site, making that difficult transition not only easier but absolutely seamless. When he passed, we felt so loved and comforted and supported. I just cannot recommend this facility enough. I know that if I am ever in need of this kind of care again - for a loved one or myself, Kemper House would be my very first choice.

From my first interaction, Kemper House felt like a second home and eventually the place my wife felt was her primary home. We were greeted by Greg, owner and Aleks, Outreach Director and the staff were very helpful and felt like family. My wife Cissy was greeted at the front door and from that moment on she felt comfortable. She had no reservations about going to a strange new environment. She knew that she was accepted from day 1. She enjoyed every member of the staff. She had a smile on her face every time someone would talk to her. She adopted Kemper House as her new family and always wanted to come back to “home” which was now Kemper. Anna Marie made it a point to say good morning to Cissy with every interaction. Emma and Emmy always took care of Cissy like she was family. Kiyanna was great with communicating on a daily basis with me and gave me reassurance as to progress- good or bad. I can’t say enough about Sara and Hillary. We were all amazed at the detailed care given from the Directors to the front-line staff. Megan with Life Enrichment was always so attentive. She would make sure to tell Cissy of the daily events happening and coached her to participate even when she would resist. She made sure that Cissy was always involved and engaged. May would come in and always made sure that her clothes were spotless. My wife enjoyed looking nice and presentable and May ensured that continued even in her new home. Alyssa and Aleks were like sisters to Cissy and had a special way to connect with her. If a smile was an indication of happiness, I knew that my wife was at peace. There is no better care anywhere other than Kemper House Worthington.
